Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today once again warned saying,' Offender with whatever his political background must get punishment for crimes.'

She expressed her determination to take stern action against the culprit involved in the recent attack on Sylhet college girl Khadija Begum Nargis.

The Prime Minister came up with the warning while delivering her session-concluding speech in the Parliament on Thursday (today).

She also clarified, 'We are not giving the attacker any protection. Whoever the criminal is, he will be punished.'

Sylhet college girl Khadija Begum Nargis who was hacked by Badrul Alam, a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit, has been kept again in medical observation for more one  or two days.

The condition of the hacked girl, however, remains unchanged, the physicians added.

Earlier yesterday, Badrul Alam, the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit who hacked Sylhet college girl Khadija Begum Nargis, has given confessional statement over the murder attempt.

The BCL leader gave the confessional statement before the additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Sharaban Tahura in Sylhet in this connection.

Nothing would be said about her physical condition before 72 hours, said the physicians of the Square Hospital in Dhaka yesterday but today she has been kept in more observation.

She had gone through a four-hour long second phase of operation from Tuesday noon to afternoon since admitting at the hospital on that morning.

Now she has been kept on life support at the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

On October 3, Khadija Begum Nargis, 23, a student of Sylhet Government Mohila College and daughter of Masuk Miah, a resident of Hausa village in Sadar upazila, was hacked on her way home from college by Badrul Alam, the assistant secretary of SUST unit of BCL.

Hearing screams of the victim, locals rescued Khadija and caught Badrul from the spot and handed him over to police after giving him a good thrashing.
