PM receives 4 lakh blankets from four private banks

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday received four lakh and six thousand pieces of blanket from four private banks for the cold-hit people of the country.

The private banks NRB Global Bank Ltd, Union Bank Ltd (UBL), Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) and First Security Islami Bank Ltd (FSIBL) donated these blankets to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund for the cold- stricken people.

PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS that chairmen and senior officials of the banks handed over the blankets to the premier at her Jatiya Sangsad office here yesterday evening.

Receiving the blankets, the premier thanked the authorities of the four private banks for coming forward to the help of the distressed humanity.

NRB Global Bank Ltd Chairman Nizam Chowdhury and Managing Director Prashanta Kumar Haldar, UBL Chairman Shahidul Alam and Managing Director Abdul Hamid Miah, IBBL Chairman Engineer Mustafa Anwar and Managing Director Abdul Mannan, FSIBL Chairman Mohammed Saiful Alam, Vice Chairman Mohammed Abdul Maleque and Managing Director Syed Waseque Mohammad Ali were present on the occasion.
