Journo Shahidul Huq's wife Shamsun Nahar passes away

Short story writer Kazi Shamsun Nahar, wife of eminent journalist late AKM Shahidul Huq, died of old age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital in the early hours of today at the age of 72.

Kazi Shamsun Nahar, the mother of Shahriar Shahid, Managing Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and world famous artists and designer late Shahruk Shahid, was a prolific writer and edited now defunct fortnightly "Disha". She was also a prominent social worker.

A family source said Shamsun Nahar is survived by son journalist Shahriar Shahid, two daughters, two sisters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Shariar said the mortal remains of Kazi Shamsun Nahar will be taken to Ghorashal from capital's Azimpur residence at noon. She will be laid to eternal rest at the family graveyard at Ghoarshal following her namaz-e-janza there after Asr prayers.

Late Shamsun Nahar has a good numbers of publications including short stories and novels like Sulta Dibya Jina, Swapnil Kabya and Asharer Purnima.
