Speaker off to Australia to join CPA meeting

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, also the Chairperson of executive committee of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) left Dhaka for Australia last night to join a CPA Mid-Year Executive Committee Meeting there.
The meeting began today at Darwin, the capital of Australia's Northern Territory and it will continue till April 28, said an official release here today.
State Minister for Post and Telecommunications and Information Technology Tarana Halim, Senior Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Dr M Abdur Rab Hawlader and other senior officials saw the speaker off at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Dr Shirin Sharmin is scheduled to return home on April 28, the release added.
