7-year-old minor girl violated in Chandpur

A seven-year-old girl was violated allegedly by a young man in Sontoshpur area of Chandpur​ on Monday afternoon.

Quoting locals, Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station, said that Nurul Islam, 32, son of late Chelamat Ullah, a resident of Asta village in Khajuria area, took the girl in a room of a guard of local fish enclosure when the girl was passing it around 3:30 pm and violated her there, leaving her injured.

Hearing screaming of the girl, locals rushed in and caught Nurul.

Later, the accused was handed over to police.

The injured girl was admitted to Chandpur Government General Hospital.
