Ahsanullah University teacher arrested on sexual harassment charges
Police in Dhaka have arrested a university teacher on charges of sexually harassing his female student.

Mahfuzur Rashid Ferdous, who taught at the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), was detained early on Wednesday from an apartment at the city’s Ramna area.
Police said that an AUST student Asadullah Al Sayem filed a case against the teacher with Dhaka’s Kalabagan police station on Tuesday night.
Kalabagan police’s Sub Inspector Shamim Ahmed told that Ferdous owns an apartment at Kalabagan but used to live in Ramna area.
On Apr 30, AUST authorities suspended the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department teacher amid students’ demonstration on the campus.
Ferdous was also serving as the assistant proctor at the university.
