Important DSCC establishments to get free wifi facilities: Khokon

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has decided to bring every important establishment under free wifi facilities in phases and the installation of free wifi activities would be completed within the next six months.
"We have announced 50 free wifi zones as a part of the decision," Mayor of DSCC Sayeed Khokon told newsmen, while inaugurating free wifi activities as the chief guest at Lalbagh Fort in the city today.
Under the programme, the DSCC has been working to install free wifi facility at Bangabandhu Museum, Bangabandhu Avenue, Russel Square, Central Shaheed Minar, Aparajeo Bangla, Ahsan Manzil, Curzon Hall, Kamalapur Railway Station, Bahadur Shah Park, Osmani Uddyan, Ramna Park, Balda Garden, Central Shishu Park, Dhanmondi Lake, Mohanagar Nattya Manch, Science Annex Bhaban, Nagar Bhaban, DSCC Zone-2, Zone-3 and Zone-5, Sayedabad Bus Terminal, Fulbaria Bus Terminal, Sadarghat Launch Terminal, Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital, Dhaka Mohanagar Shishu Hospital, Nazirabazar Matree Sadan, New Market, Mayor Mohammad Hanif Community Centre, Segunbaghicha Community Centre, Dhanmondi Bhuter Golli Community Centre, Basabo Community Centre, Kazi Bashi Auditorium, Paltan Community Centre, Nababganj Seven Martyr Community Centre, Haji Golam Murshed Community Centre, Haji Khalil Sardar Community Centre, Azimpur Mini Community Centre, Haji Jummon Community Centre, Fazlul Karim Community Centre, North Brooke Hall Library, Freedom Fighter Sadek Hossain Khoka Community Centre, Mazed Sardar Community Centre, Sutrapur Community Centre, Dhalpur Community Centre, Fakir Chand Community Centre, Sharafatganj Community Centre, Jatrabari Community Centre and Zahir Raihan Cultural Centre.
The DSCC and Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) have been jointly installing the free wifi, which would not require any password. During the inaugural ceremony DSCC chief executive officer Khan Mohammad Belal, BTCL managing director Fakhruddin Ahmed among others were present.
