Mob lynches woman in Badda suspecting her to be a child lifter

In yet another case of lynching triggered by rumours, an unidentified woman was allegedly beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of being a child-lifter in Uttar Badda area of the capital on Saturday morning.
The incident took place on Kanchabazar road in Uttar Badda at around 9:00am.
Locals said that three women wearing burkas and hand gloves tried to enter Uttar Badda Government Primary School at around 8:00am. At one stage, local people nabbed one and gave her a good thrashing, leaving her critically injured. But, two of her associates managed to escape the scene.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the critically injured woman to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on duty doctor declared her dead.
Officer- in-Charge of Badda police station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the news.
In separate incidents, more than ten people were allegedly thrashed on suspicion of being child lifter across the country in last couple of days.
