3 arrested for lynching woman

Police on Sunday night arrested three people from the capital's Uttar Badda in connection with the lynching of a woman on Saturday following a child-lifting rumour.
The arrestees are Md Bacchu Mia, 28, MD Bappi, 21 and MD Shaheen, 31.
Al Imran, duty officer of Badda police station, said police arrested the three from the area after reviewing a video clip of the incident.
On Saturday, Taslima Begum went to Uttar Badda Govt Primary School to collect information about her daughter's admission there.
She was taken to the head teacher of the school for interrogation while a rumour spread outside about a child lifter had been held. Later she was dragged out of the school by a mob and then beaten mercilessly.
On information, police rescued critically injured Taslima and took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the physicians declared her dead.
Taslima was from Raipur upazila in Lakshmipur and was living with her daughter and mother in the capital. She was separated from her husband two years back. Taslima's son, 11, has been living with his father in Badda.
