Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home from London on Thursday after concluding her official visit to the United Kingdom.
“The prime minister will return home on Thursday after undergoing a medical checkup in the British capital on Monday,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS from London today.
On July 22, the prime minister underwent a successful surgery in her left eye at a London hospital, the press secretary said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Office sources said here a Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight carrying the prime minister will depart from Heathrow International Airport in London for Dhaka at 6:20 pm (London time) on Wednesday.
The flight is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday morning, the sources said.
Addressing a community event in London on Saturday afternoon, Sheikh Hasina said a surgery was done in her left eye and that is why she has to move cautiously.
“I’ve an appointment with the physicians on August 5 as they wanted to examine my eye again … they (doctors) will fix my power of the eye and then I’ll return home,” she said.
“As I will return home by Bangladesh Biman, I’ll leave for home on Wednesday,” she added.
Meanwhile, Biman sources in Dhaka said they have no flight on London-Dhaka route on Tuesday.
The premier went to London on July 19 to attend Bangladeshi envoys’ conference and other programmes.
