9 more death from coronavirus, 309 new cases confirmed

Nine more people died of coronavirus in Bangladesh, bringing the death toll in the country to 140 in the last 24 hours till Saturday.

In addition, over the period 309 more people tested positive for coronavirus, raising the number of such cases to 4,998 in the world.

Additional Director-General (Admin) of the Health Services Directorate-General (DGHS) Prof. Nasima Sultana released the latest death and infection figures in a regular online newsletter on the coronavirus situation in Dhaka Saturday afternoon.

"In the last 24 hours, we've carried out tests on 3,337 samples collected from across the country and 309 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 4,998. Nine more people have died and the total death toll is 140," she said.
