Nurse mother, daughter test coronavirus positive in Kushtia

A nurse mother and her daughter tested positive for coronavirus in Kushtia in the last 24 hours till Sunday night.
With the latest ones, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the district reached 13, said Civil Surgeon HM Anwarul Isam.
The infected are- Tahmina Begum, 70, resident of Mohodipur village in Amla union of Mirpur upazila and a nurse of Dhaka Birdem Hospital and her daughter Champa, 32.
Tahmina returned home from Dhaka several days ago. Later, four samples of her family members were collected. Among them, two samples were found positive, said the civil surgeon.
Meanwhile, four more people, including a physician, have tested positive for coronavirus in Kushtia till Sunday noon.
Dr Nazmul Munir, a medical officer at the district civil surgeon’s office, confirmed the development, saying Dr Syeda Tasmina Tabassum, a physician at the Mirpur Upazila Health Complex, is also among the newly identified patients.
The three others are from Daulatpur upazila, he added.
Kushtia reported the first case on April 23. Currently, 3,053 people are maintaining home-quarantine in the district after they returned from other districts, including Dhaka and Narayanganj.
Bangladesh has so for recorded 5,416 cases and 145 deaths from the virus till Sunday.
