BGB sends back 19 Rohingyas

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sent 19 Rohingyas and six boats carrying more Rohingya people back to Myanmar from Cox’s Bazar border areas.
The people tried to enter Bangladesh through several border points of Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas during the night before Friday morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar, commanding officer of BGB battalion-34 in Ukhia, said they detained and pushed back 19 Rohingyas to Myanmar when they were trying to enter Bangladesh.
Teknaf BGB-2 deputy commander major Abu Russell Siddiqui, said six boats carrying about 15 to 18 Rohingyas each tried to enter Bangladesh across Naf river.
The boats have been sent back to Myanmer, he added.
Thousands of Rohingya people, a Muslim minority group of Rakhine state of Myanmar, have been fleeing their country amid persecution by Myanmar military and trying to enter Bangladesh through a number of border points, including the Naf River.
