Ferry services on Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in the Padma river resumed on Monday morning after ten hours of disruption caused by dense fog.
The ferry service had been kept suspended on the route from 11:00pm on Sunday night to 9:00 am on Monday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog, said Giasuddin Patwari, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia.
Seven ferries with a large number of vehicles and passengers on board got stuck in the middle of the river, reports UNB news agency.
However, the ferry service resumed around 9 am today (Monday) with the disappearance of dense fog.
