Vested quarters doing arms business with blood of Muslims: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said vested quarters are doing arms business with the blood of Muslims. The premier urged all Muslims of the world to remain alert about militancy and terrorism.
She made the comment as visiting United Arab Emirates (UAE) Speaker Emirates Dr Amal Al Qubaisi raised the terrorism issue when she met Hasina at her official residence Ganobhaban.
The Prime Ministers also narrated that she herself and her family are the worst victims of terrorism.
PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, the UAE Speaker said terrorism and extremism are causing big problems, and referred to Syrian issue saying they believe in a peaceful solution to the problem through dialogue.
In reply, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regretted that some derailed people are getting engaged in terrorist acts, and said her government has involved people from all walks of life, including imams, teachers and guardians, to create mass awareness against such social menaces.
Qubaisi said Sheikh Hasina is a role model when it comes to women empowerment, and development in education and health sectors, and highly appreciated her government for successfully organising the 136th IPU conference in Dhaka.
Qubaisi stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation between Bangladesh and the UAE and said the exchange of visits of the Parliament members could help further strengthen the cooperation.
About strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and the UAE, the Prime Minister said both the countries have ample opportunities to make investment in each other's country.
