Housewife slaughtered after gang rape

A 25-year-old housewife was gang raped before hacking her to death at Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari.

The rapists even chopped the victim’s breasts.

Police recovered the body of the housewife from the common room of Barimodhur Govt Primary School under Niatai union at the upazila at about 11:00 am on Sunday (April 23).

The deceased was identified as Khodiza Begum, wife of day-laborer Bachchhu Mia of Kutialpara village under the union and daughter of day-laborer Fazle Mahmud of Dangapara village of the same union.  

Police, however, arrested one Rafiqul Islam Babu, 55, from the area for interrogation.   

Ziaur Rahman Zia, a police official, said that Khodiza’s husband and father were staying in Comilla for day-labor work, he said.

Police suspected that the miscreants gang-raped the woman in any other place and kept the body in the school after slaughtering. They also hacked her breasts. The body was sent to the Nilphamari Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said the police official.
