DMP bans crackers on Shab-e-Barat

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed a restriction on carrying of all types of explosives and crackers as well as explosion of firecrackers in the capital ahead of holy Shab-e-Barat to be observed tomorrow (Thursday) night.

The DMP enforced the ban under the Section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance-1976 (Ord. No. III of 1976), aiming to maintain the sanctity of the night so that it can be observed peacefully, according to a DMP news release yesterday.

The restriction will come into force from 6:00pm Thursday to 6:00am Friday.
