11 bombs, pistol recovered from Godagari militant den

Eleven bombs and a pistol were recovered from the militant den of Godagari in Rajshahi in the second day operation.

No remaining body was found in the hideout, police said.

The operation ‘Sun Devil’ has resumed  around 9:00am on Friday morning.

Officer-in-charge of Godagari police station Hifzul Alam Munshi said two bullets and a magazine also were recovered from the spot. Bomb disposal unit are working to defuse the bomb, the OC said.

On Thursday, five militants and a firefighter were killed in the first day operation.

Public were asked to leave the place by miking  from near the hideout at Benipur village of Matikata union of godagari upazila.

Section 144 also has been imposed within one square kilometer area from the hideout and requested to people to stay their home.

Earliar, sound of fired was heared around 8:50am.

Police officials said members of bomb disposal unit fired to the house to ensure whether any militants are staying in the den. For this reason, sound of fire was heared.
