JS budget session begins tomorrow

The 16th session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin at 11 am on tomorrow. This will be this year's budget session.
President M Abdul Hamid summoned the third session of parliament in the current year as per Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will place in parliament the national budget for the next fiscal year, 2017-'18 (FY18), on June 1 (Thursday).
This will be the country's 46th budget and the 18th of the Awami League government while the 11th for Muhith.
Muhith, who is placing the national budget for the ninth time in a row since 2009, hinted that the size of the new budget could be over Taka 4 lakh crore.
Earlier, he placed a Taka 3 lakh 40 thousand 605 crore budget for the current 2016-17 financial year (FY17) on June 2, setting the GDP growth target at 7.2 percent and delineating a set of programmes to transform the country into a role model of modern and welfare state by 2041.
The Annual Development Programme (ADP) allocation for 2017-18 FY is Taka 1 lakh 64 thousand crore, which was approved by the ECNEC.
