Investigation report deferred

The date to submit the inverstigation report on the Banani rape case has been deferred to 19 June. Dhaka metropolitan magistrate AHM Toaha set the date on Monday.
The report was to be submitted on Monday (today), but as it did not reach the court yet, the date of submission has been deferred.
The five accused of the case, including Shafat Ahmed, were brought to court today, the court sources said.
Abdul Halim alias Nayeem Ashraf was detained from Lauhajang upazila of Munshiganj district on 17 May evening. He confessed to his crime in the court and Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Satyabrata Sikdar Halim recorded his testimony.
Four other accused in the case were arrested earlier.
Two girls, students of a private university, said they were raped at a Banani hotel, The Raintree, on 28 March after they were invited to attend a birthday party there.
