PM hosts iftar for judges, diplomats

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted an iftar for judges, diplomats and high civil and military officials at her official Ganabhaban residence here yesterday.
The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their well-being.
A special munajat was offered before the iftar seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15 and the martyrs of the Liberation War as well as good health and long life of the Prime Minister.
Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Maulana Ehsanul Haque conducted the munajat.
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar, PM's Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps were present on the dais.
PM's Advisers HT Imam, Dr Moshiur Rahman and Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan, PSC Chairman Dr Muhammad Sadiq, ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmud, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Golam Arif Tipu, Chief Information Commissioner Dr Golam Rahman, NBR Chairman Nazibur Rahman also joined the iftar.
Besides, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court, senior officials of various ministries, government organizations and departments and diplomats of different countries joined the iftar.
