BSF guns down 2 Bangladeshis, picks up 2 others

India’s Border Security Force aka BSF on Tuesday shot dead two Bangladeshis along Khosalpur border in Mohespur upazila of Jhenaidah and picked up two others along Hapania border in Naogaon.
The deceased were identified as Harun, 25, son of Kawser Ali of Shyamkur village in Mohespur upazila, and Sohel Tarafdar, 20, son of Shahidul Tarafdar of Khoshalpur village in the same upazila.
Commanding officer of Moheshpur BGB Battalion-58 lieutenant colonel Zillur Rahman said the BSF troops of Kumari camp in India opened fire on a group of 10-12 Bangladeshi cattle traders around 11:00am when they went to the bordering area to bring cattle, leaving Harun and Sohel dead on the spot.
However, other traders managed to flee.
Later, the BSF members took away the bodies to their camp.
The BGB authorities are taking preparation to hold a flag meeting with BSF over the matter, Zillur Rahman added.
Besides, two Bangladeshi nationals were picked up by BSF members at Duarpal along Hapania border in Porsha upazila.
The victims are: Mainul Islam, son of Ketab Ali and Manirul Islam, son of Abdul Mannan of Duarpal village in the upazila.
Nayek Subedar Abdur Razzak, commander of Hapania Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) camp, said the BSF members of Adaripara camp chased some Bangladeshi cattle traders near border pillar no 232 while returning to the country with cattle in the dead of night.
At one stage, the BSF members picked up the two Bangladeshi nationals while the others managed to flee the scene.
Later, they were handed over to Habipur police in India.
