Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the United States in connection with the 72nd UN General Assembly (UNGA), is keeping round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and digitally clearing urgent files.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the US capital of Washington, is maintaining round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and giving necessary directives to the officials concerned on different matters," PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said over phone today.
The press secretary said the prime minister digitally cleared 16 urgent files in the last two days from the US capital.
"The premier digitally disposed of nine electronic files (e-files) on Monday and seven files on Sunday," Ihsanul Karim added.
The press secretary said the prime minister earlier instructed her office to send all the urgent files to her during her stay in the USA.
"Following the directive, officials concerned at the Prime Minister's Office are emailing important files to the premier, taking the advantage of the digitization initiatives of the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he added.
Sheikh Hasina reached Washington from New York on Friday afternoon after attending the 72nd session of the UNGA.
After staying in Washington for a week, the premier will leave for home on September 29. She will return home on October 2 via London. Sheikh Hasina arrived in New York on September 17 to join the 72nd UNGA session.
