9 killed in Narsingdi road accident

At least nine people were killed in two separate road accidents in Narsingdi on Monday morning.
Among them, six people were killed as a bus collided head-on with a microbus at Sadar upazila of the district, while three others killed in separate road crash at Shibpur upazila.
In Sadar upazila, the accident took place at Kandile area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at about 7:00am. Deceased are all passengers of the microbus.
Two among the deceased are, Babul Hossain, in his thirties, and Rezaul Karim, around 38 years old, residents of Biyanibazar upazila of Sylhet.
The Narsingdi police Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Ilias said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Narsingdi collided head on with a microbus as it near Kandile area of the highway and left four people dead on the spot. Five people were injured during the accident.
The injured were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, where two people died. Bodies of four others were kept at Madhabdi police station.
In Shibpur upazila, three people were killed in a collision between bus and a utility vehicle used for public transport in front of Madina Jute Mill at Kararchar area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at about 10:00am. At least eight people were injured during the accident.
