Lovers found hanging with a single rope in Jessore

Two young lovers allegedly ended their lives by hanging themselves with single rope from a tree beside Dighulia canal at Avoynagar upazila on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Lipa Bishwas, 14, daughter of Gobinda Bishwas of Joyrabad village in Siddipasha union and Saikat Sen, 20, son of Sushanto Sen of the same village.

Locals spotted the hanging bodies of Lipa, a class-VII student at Joyrabad Sommeloni High School and Saikat who had failed in the last year’s SSC exam from same school and informed the police, said Sonatola police outpost in-charge Mortoza Ali.

On information, police recovered two bodies and sent those to Jessore General Hospital for autopsy.

Sheikh Goni Miah, Officer-in-Charge of Avoynagar Police Station, said the duo might have committed suicide as police found a suicide note.
