People should respect nursing profession: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said nursing profession is important part in health sector.
Despite prestigious profession, she said people of our society ignore the profession.
The Prime Minister made this remark while inaugurating National Institute of Advanced Nursing Education and Research in Dhaka’s Badda area.
The premier also said “We have launched Bangabandhu-1 satellite successfully on Saturady. We have used modern technology in the satellite.
It will not only effect on entertainment but health sector also.”
“With the launch of Bangabandhu-1, Bangladesh has entered the 57-member prestigious satellite club. The Bangabandhu-1 will provide services in three categories—broadcasting, telecommunication and data communication--and also help boost the development of the country’s telecommunication sector,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said apart from Bangladesh the satellite could serve the Asian nations including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Tajakstan and Kazakhstan.
Today is the International Nurses Day. She also remembered Florence Nightingale on her birthday as she was born May 12, 1820. Nightingale is considered the founder of the modern nursing profession, the Prime Minister said.
