Badda U-loop opens today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Badda U-loop under Hatirjheel Integrated Development Project on Saturday afternoon. 

After the inauguration, it will be opened for traffic movement, said Project Director (RAJUK) Jamal Akter Bhuiyan. 

He said that the traffic jam will be reduced one step further due to the construction of this project. It will ease vehicular movement from Pragati Sarani, Aftab Nagar and Rampura towards Malibagh area, Jamal Akter added. 

Besides, the roads from Merul Badda to Kuril will be free from u-turn. vehicles bound for Rampura, Banasree or Aftab Nagar can change their lanes easily.

The Badda u-loop, which costs approximately Tk 40 crore to build, is 450 meters long and 10 meters wide. The construction work of the U-loop started in 2015.
