PM unveils ‘World Skills Bangladesh’ logo

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday unveiled the logo of ‘World Skills Bangladesh’ at cabinet meeting.
“At the onset of cabinet meeting today, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the logo of ‘World Skills Bangladesh’ for branding Bangladesh at the 45th ‘World Skills Competition’ to be held in Russia in 2019,” said a official of NSDC Secretariat.
The competition will be held at Kazan in Russia from August 22 to 27 in 2019 aimed at providing leaders in industry and education with an opportunity to exchange information and best practices of industry and education.
Eight competitors from Bangladesh, including fashion designer, software developer, web designer, IT network cabling worker, cook and restaurant service provider, will take part in the competition.
Every two years, WorldSkills hosts the world championships of skills which attract more than 1,300 competitors from around 70 countries.
At this event, young people from all corners of the globe gather together for the chance to win a prestigious medal in their chosen skill.
There are competitions in over fifty skills across a wide range of industries – from joinery to floristry; hairdressing to electronics; and autobody repair to bakery. The competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions that are held in WorldSkills member countries and regions.
