Newspaper is mirror of society: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said newspaper is the mirror of the society.
The Prime Minister said we have freed newspaper as journalists can work independently.
The premier said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had relation with newspaper and worked for the newspaper. In this case, I am also member of newspaper.
The Prime Minister said this while donating cheque to 113 journalists at Prime Minister office (PMO) in Dhaka on Wednesday.
I am working very coordially for the welfare of Bangladesh people. My father always worked for changing life of countrymen, she said.
I always read newspaper with tea early in the morning. Many journalists take snap and send news from very remote area. I have desired to do some thing for them, she said.
Bangabandhu gave government job and allowance to many journalists after independence as journalists were in bad condition, she said.
For the poor and ill-fated journalsts, I approved Journalist Welfare Fund where has tk 14 crore fund and I will now donate more tk 20 crore for the fund, she said.
We have made Online Digital Bangladesh. We have established Mass Media Institution.
Our GDP has been increased 7.8 percent and our inflation decreased 5.4 percent, the Prime Minister said.
We are building flats which journalists can buy the flats as per the instalment.
Bangabandhu said it is more difficult to protect independence than it achieve, she said.
After Awami League assumed power in 2009, you have to confess that there is huge changes in our country, the premier said.
