Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday urged all to abide by traffic rules and thus help reduce road fatalities.

“Pedestrians are not following traffic rules…there’s a necessity to change the habit and stop jaywalking to minimize road accidents,” she said.

She further said, “It’s not wise to blame the driver whenever a road accident takes place...many accidents take place for not following traffic rules by pedestrians.”

The Prime Minister was addressing a press conference at her official residence Ganobhaban about the outcome of her recent official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The press conference began at 4pm.
