US Ambassador pays farewell call on Speaker

Outgoing US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat on Wednesday paid a farewell call on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at her office.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including parliamentary activities, election process, development of Bangladesh, women empowerment, tourism industry, a handout said.

The US envoy expressed her satisfaction over the hospitality of the people of Bangladesh during her tenure.

She hoped that the bilateral relationship between the USA and Bangladesh would be strengthened in the future.

The Speaker praised the role of the US ambassador for successfully completing her assignment in Bangladesh over the last four years.
