Hasina pledges 4-lane Dhaka-Sylhet highway

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina today promised the people of Sylhet that the Dhaka-Sylhet highway will be turned into a four-lane highway if the party is voted back to power.
Sheikh Hasina, also the prime minister called upon the people to cast their votes for her party’s polls symbol “Boat”.
She also promised to ensure peace, prosperity and progress of people and the country while she was addressing an election rally in Sylhet this afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina took to the podium at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa Ground around 4:00pm, reports our Sylhet local correspondent from the rally ground.
Before attending the rally, she offered prayers at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA), Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) and Hazrat Gazi Borhanuddin (RA).
The prime minister reached the city by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 11:05am.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim are, among others, accompanying the prime minister.
At the rally, Hasina introduced around 18 candidates contesting the polls under the symbol of “Boat” from the region.
