Now mother of three 'gang-raped' in Noakhali

When the country is still reeling from the shock of the gang-rape of a woman in Noakhali's Subarnachar upazila on December 31, yet another woman has been allegedly raped in the district's Kabirhat upazila.
The 29-year-old mother of three children complained to police that she was gang-raped by three men at gunpoint in the early hours of Saturday.
Police detained one Zaker Hossain, 28, in connection with the incident and the process of filing a rape case was underway, said Mirza Md Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kabirhat Police Station.
Quoting the victim, the police official said three locals including Zaker entered her house around 1:00am, held her hostage at gunpoint and raped her.
The OC also said according to the complaint of the woman, her husband is a prisoner, who is now serving terms at a jail in Noakhali, and the perpetrators took the advantage of her husband's absence.
The victim will be sent to Noakhali General Hospital for medical examinations, the police official added.
Meanwhile, a mother of four, who was gang-raped in Subarnachar of Noakhali on December 31, returned home on Thursday after taking treatment for 17 days.
The woman was gang-raped in Noakhali's Subarnachar on December 31 last year, allegedly by 10 to 12 Awami League activists.
She said she was raped for voting for 'sheaf of paddy,' the electoral symbol of BNP in the December 30 parliamentary polls.
Police arrested 11 people in connection with the crime.
