Nominations for the 2019 Oscars have been announced recently. “Roma” and “The Favourite” led nominations for the 91st Oscars, scoring 10 nods each. Both films were nominated for best picture, alongside “Black Panther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “A Star Is Born,” “Vice,” and “Green Book.”
Lady Gaga has been nominated on her very fast movie “A Star Is Born”. Along with her Glenn for “The Wife” Olivia Colman for “The Favourite” and Melissa McCarthy “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” are fighting the Oscar battle for Best Actress award.
On the other hand The best actor race includes Christian Bale for his turn as former VP Dick Cheney in “Vice,” Rami Malek as iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Bradley Cooper in “A Star Is Born,” Willem Dafoe as Vincent Van Gogh in “At Eternity’s Gate,” and Viggo Mortensen in “Green Book.”
For best director’s will be battle among Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman), Adam McKay (Vice), Yorgos Lanthimos(The Favourite). Pawel Pawlikowski,(Cold War) and Alfonso Cuarón, (Roma).
Nominations were announced on Tuesday morning by Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross. The Academy Awards will air live Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on ABC.
