Skill development of women entrepreneurs underscored

Adequate training could enhance skill and expertise of the women entrepreneurs for flourishing their trade and business to accelerate the pace of development and strengthening national economy. 

The observation came at inaugural ceremony of a three-day training course on 'Flourishing expertise of rural women entrepreneurs in selecting technology- life- and livelihood- based business' at a local hotel in Nilphamari district town today. 

The Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BWCCI) with Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has been organising the training course with assistance of Nilphamari Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NWCCI). 

Thirty member female entrepreneurs of NWCCI, who were earlier given training on more than 10 different trades, have been participating in the training course for properly selecting their business of own choice on selected trade. 

Nilphamari municipality Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed attended the launching ceremony and inaugurated the training course as the chief guest with President of NWCCI Ummey Kulsum Munni in the chair. 

District Women Affairs Officer Nurun Nahar Shahajadi attended the inaugural ceremony as the special guest. 

Senior Trainers K M Ali Samrat and Shahina Akhter Lopa have been conducting different sessions of the three-day training course as main resource persons. 

The speakers said the women entrepreneurs had been substantially accelerating the national uplift and economic activities promoting women empowerment in every sector to advance the country forward towards a middle income nation. 

The chief guest said that the country's community and female entrepreneurs were playing vital role in accelerating the socioeconomic uplift activities in every sector through their vital contribution and leadership. 

"Despite achieving huge success by the women entrepreneurs, they could further flourish trade, business, commerce, industries and enterprises if their skill and expertise were improved through providing necessary training," he said. 

He thanked BWCCI and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs for arranging the time-befitting training course that would help the women entrepreneurs of the backward region in flourishing their trade, commerce, business and enterprises.
