Police drive at Nasirpur ‘militant den’ resumes

Policemen have resumed their drive at the suspected militant den at Nasirpur in Moulvibazar, said police super Mohammad Shah Jalal at about 10.00am on Thursday.

Law enforcement suspended the operation codenamed 'Operation Hit Back' due to heavy rain that started early in the morning, said a member of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit seeking anonymity.

A number of vehicles carrying Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members were seen going towards the spot.

The joint forces also feature members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and district police.

On Wednesday evening, the joint forces launched an operation at the 'militant hideout' at Nasirpur village in Sadar upazila.

They have also encircled another 'militant den' in Barhat municipality area.

The local administration imposed section 144 in Barhat area and within a 2-km radius of the 'militant den' at Nasirpur.
