Speaker greeted for holding successful IPU Assembly

Officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat yesterday congratulated Speaker and CPA Executive Committee Chairperson Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury for holding the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly successfully in the city.

Conveners and wing chiefs of various sub-committees formed on the occasion of the 136th IPU Assembly, greeted the Speaker with flowers, said an official handout.

Dr Shirin said officials and employees of the Jatiya Sangsad, members of law enforcement agencies, various ministries and agencies, print, electronic, online media, radio, city corporations, event managements and all concerned put their sincere efforts to make the Assembly successful.

The Speaker also thanked members of parliament (MPs) for supervising all activities of the Assembly.

She also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her valuable guidance about the Assembly.

Senior secretary Dr Abdur Rab Hawlader attended the function.
