Risha murder case trial begins

The trial for the Risha murder case began on Monday.
The nine-grader Suraiya Akhter Risha of Willes Little Flower School and College student was brutally knifed to death by Obaidul Khan (29) on 24 August last year.
Additional metropolitan sessions judge Md Abul Kashem fixed 8 May as the date for deposition of the witnesses.
Earlier in morning, sole accused in the murder case Obaidul claimed innocence and sought justice at the court.
Risha's mother Tania, present at the court, told Prothom Alo that she wants exemplary punishment for killer and a speedy trial.
On 24 August 2016, around 12:30 pm, Risha was stabbed by Obaidul on her way home from the school after an examination.
She was seriously wounded and succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on 28 August.
