Grass-roots AL men take right decisions, boost party: Hasina

Sheikh Hasina, president of Bangladesh Awami League and also the prime minister, today said that grass-roots level leaders and activists always boost the party by taking the right decisions.

“They (grass-roots level leaders and activists) were able to deliver the right decision, this is the reality,” the AL chief said while addressing a special extended party meeting at her Gono Bhaban residence in Dhaka this morning.

Terming the grass-roots level AL leaders and activists the “main component” of the party, she said they always hold the party wheel.   

Awami League survived fighting all adverse situations with the help of the grass-roots level leaders and activists, the premier said.

“As leaders and activists of Awami League, our responsibility is to fulfill the dream of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib so that every person in the country gets food, home, education, health care and prosperous life,” Hasina added.   

The two-day long meeting aims at reducing internal disputes across the country. Hasina might also formally instruct the party men to prepare for the 2019 general election.

The grass roots leaders would get a chance to speak about the organisation in front of party chief Sheikh Hasina after a long time.
