Law enforcers recovered seven grenades and three suicide vests as they ended their operation at two suspected militant hideouts in Genda area of Savar today.
Earlier around 10:45am, the law enforcers resumed their operation at the suspected dens after a bomb disposal unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) reached the spot.
Sound of nine explosions has been heard between 12:10pm and 1:57pm after the bomb disposal team broke into a room of one of the suspected militant dens on the first floor of a six-storey building.
The law enforcers earlier evacuated the locals from the nearby houses.
Last night, the law enforcers cordoned off the six-storey building and a two-storey building in the area.
The law enforcers suspected that there might be explosive materials in a room of the six-storey building. Another room was found locked on the same floor.
Earlier around 8:00pm last night, a team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP raided a suspected militant den on the ground floor of a five-storey building in the area with assistance from Savar Model Police Station.
A woman and two children were rescued from the house, police said.
