Seven-grader allegedly raped by her uncle at home

A girl student of class seven in Sakhipur upazila of Tangail has allegedly been raped by her uncle at home.

The student filed a case with Sakhipur police station in connection with the incident on Wednesday night.

Police sent the student to Tangail Medical College Hospital for medical test on Thursday morning.

The girl said her uncle (husband of mother's sister) took her to a solitary forest on the way to school two months ago and raped her there. On 7 July, her uncle raped her for the second time when she was alone at home.

She said her uncle threatened her of killing if she disclosed the rape incidents.

I disclosed it to my parents, she added.

The victims mother said her daughter was first raped on the way to school.

Speaking to Prothom Alo over phone, the wife of accused said, I have heard of it. It is a matter of great shame. If my husband does the crime, I want my husbands punishment.

Sub inspector of Sakhipur police station Jahidul Islam said, Police are trying to arrest the accused.

The girl was sent to the hospital for medical test, he added.
