Prime Minister visits Zafar Iqbal

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has visited Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, a professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, who was stabbed by an attacker at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.

"The Prime Minister went to the hospital at about 12:45pm on Monday and spent around an houre beside the popular writer," Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

Prof Iqbal's wife Prof Yasmeen Haque and daughter Yeshim Iqbal, were present on the occasion, among others.

Popular writer and scientist Professor Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was stabbed at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus in Sylhet last Saturday.

Zafar Iqbal was taken to CMH after receiving treatment in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital as prime minister's direction.
