Mother hacked dead by ‘son’ in Dhaka

A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her son in city’s Dakhshin Khan area on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Momtaj Begum, 56, wife of late Amin Uddin Khan, hailing from Chandpur, used to live in the area with her son.
Momtaj’s son Tabi Ullah Khan hit in her head with a sharp weapon over a family feud, leaving her critically injured, said Tapan Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Dakhshin Khan Police Station.
She was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 11pm.
Tabi Ullah, however, claimed that her mother was injured in a human hauler accident.
Police detained Tabi Ullah for interrogation.
