Housewife allegedly killed over Dowry demand in Savar

A housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband at Aichanoddar here on Friday over dowry.
The deceased was identified as Salma Begum, 18, hailing from Dorbeshpur village in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur district, used to live at a rented house with her husband’s family.
Quoting family members Mohsinul Kader, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said that Salma’s husband created pressure on her to bring Tk 10 lakh from her father’s house.
As she failed to do so, her husband along with his family members strangulated her to death and fled the house.
On information, police recovered the body.
A case was filed.
