Two more die of coronavirus, death toll now 8 in Bangladesh

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said Saturday that two more people have died from coronavirus, bringing the country's total death toll to eight.

Nevertheless, nine more people in Bangladesh have been reported positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of cases of coronavirus in the country to 70, it said.

This is the largest leap over a 24-hour span in positive tests since Bangladesh declared its first cases on March 8.

IEDCR director Meerjady Sabrina Flora revealed the information this midday while briefing media via video conference.

Flora said one was 90 and the other 68 among the deceased.
