Bangladesh reports 503 more coronavirus cases

Four more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh, bringing the country's death toll to 131 in the last 24 hours till Friday.
In addition, over the period 503 more people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the number of such cases to 4,689 in the country.
It is the biggest single-day surge in cases so far since Bangladesh first identified the virus on Mar 8.
Additional Director-General (Admin) of the Health Services Directorate-General (DGHS) Prof Nasima Sultana released the latest death and infection figures in a regular online newsletter on the coronavirus situation in Dhaka Friday afternoon.
"We have performed tests on 3,686 samples obtained around the country in the last 24 hours, and 503 more patients have been infected with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 4,689. Four more people have died and the overall death toll is 131,' she said.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours four more recovered from the disease, bringing the recovery toll to 112 so far after Bangladesh reported its first Covid-19 case on March 8.
