The former husband of murdered bank employee Arifunnesa Arifa has been arrested in Tangail.
Police said Fakhrul Islam Robin was picked up from Dhonbarhi early on Friday.
Arifa, an employee of the Jamuna Bank, was stabbed while she was heading out to work from her home in Dhaka's Central Road on Mar 16.
She died at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital at noon that day.
Police are 'almost certain' about her ex-husband's involvement after seeing footage from a CCTV camera installed at a building next to her residence.
The footage shows Arifa leaving the building but she gets back inside with Robin. Both of them are seen carrying bags.
A few minutes later, Robin is seen running out of the house.
Police are bringing Robin to Dhaka where he will be produced in court, said Md Shahidullah, acting deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch.
Arifa’s brother Abdullah Al Amin Bulbul, who started the case at Kalabagan Police Station, named Robin as the accused.
Arifa used to live on the ground floor of the five-storey building at Central Road.
She was hacked at the building's staircase, said Kalabagan police Inspector Samir Chandra Sutradhar, the case's investigating officer.
