Student commits suicide failing to get desired marks in HSC exam

A student has reportedly committed suicide after failing to get desired marks in Higher School Certificate (HSC) Examination in Moghbazer area in Dhaka.
The deceased is Jannatul Naima Eti, daughter of Abdul Khalek at Rampal upazila of Bagerhat and a commerce student of Abul Kalam Degree College in the same district.
Eti’s sister Sharmin said: “Eti came to visit our sister Nasrin Akhter in Maghbazar before the Eid.
“She drank poison after getting her results. She was not satisfied with it.”
Later, Eti was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she died around 7pm.
The results were published Sunday morning. A total of 64.91% students passed in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations across Bangladesh.
Confirming the matter, DMCH police out-post in-Charge Inspector Bachchu Miah said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
