A medical test performed by the forensic department at the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital has confirmed that the Bogra student had been raped.
“The report has found that she was raped. It also mentions that she was underaged,” investigation officer and Bogra Sadar police station inspector (operation) Abul Kalam Azad said on Friday morning.
Tufan Sarkar, a leader of Bogra town Sramik League, the labour wing of ruling Awami League, raped the adolescent girl after kidnapping her from her residence last month.
The team of doctors led by Professor KM Saiful Islam performed the medical test on the girl on last Monday.
The inspector also said the prime accused of the case Tufan Sarkar and his sister Marzia Aktar and associate Munna will be produced before the court today (Friday).
Tufan’s wife Asha Sarkar and mother-in-law Rumi Begum were sent to jail after the police sought a five-day remand for each of them for the third time.
Meanwhile, the statements of Tufan’s associate Atiq and Khorkar have been recorded under section 164.
