US official Lisa Curtis due in Dhaka today

US President Donald Trump’s Deputy Assistant Lisa Curtis is due to arrive in Dhaka on Friday on a three-day official visit.
She is coming here to discuss issues on bilateral interests, including security and Rohingya crisis, according to sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During her visit, Lisa Curtis, also senior director (South and Central Asia) of National Security Council at White House, is likely to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali.
The US official is also expected to meet the Security Adviser to the Prime Minister, Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, and Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque.
Bilateral issues like Rohingya, Indo-Pacific strategy, terrorism, cyber security, democracy, human rights and labour security will come up for discussion during their meetings.
Apart from bilateral issues, regional and global security issues will get greater attention during the meetings.
